Design Hotels Adds Seven New Members

Design Hotels new

On a continuous quest to discover hotels setting the bar with outstanding design, sustainable practices, and a passion for genuine hospitality, Design Hotels™ has hand-picked seven brand-new member properties to complement an already unique portfolio of over 300 members in more than 60 destinations across the globe.

Set on a hilltop on the idyllic island of Santorini, Erosantorini is a secluded beachfront haven that successfully combines the most desirable elements of a luxury resort with that of an exclusive private villa. The Chandolin Boutique Hotel in Switzerland offers guests seclusion in a different setting, one of mountain peaks and fresh white snow. The hotel, designed by the Kittel SA architecture studio, epitomizes the typical Swiss chalet style with natural wood and stone from the area. Housed within the former France Telecom building from the 1930s and masterfully restored by acclaimed designer Jean-Phillippe Nuel, Le Cinq Codet lets one experience a Paris the world knows and one it doesn’t. For a totally unique hospitality experience, Hotel Liberty—housed in a former prison in Offenburg, Germany—encourages guests to step back and appreciate the notion of freedom through fine cuisine, spacious rooms, and an emphasis on shared experiences. Design-lovers should head to Istanbul, where The House Hotel Bomonti—set in Bomonti, once a manufacturing district and now an edgy, cosmopolitan neighborhood—offers a refined aesthetic thanks to renowned designer Terence Conran. Inside what used to be President Chiang Kai-shek’s official guesthouse on the southernmost tip of Taiwan, Gloria Manor offers an eco-conscious retreat amid the verdant landscape of Kenting National Park. Boldly realized by the Singapore-based studio Ministry of Design, Vue Hotel Houhai Beijing is dispersed throughout a series of buildings outlaid with an arresting range of ornamentation, from distinctive gargoyles and decorative roof eaves to latticed window frames and brick walls.
